The convergence of mobile apps and automotive IoT to help Dutch drivers.

ANWB is the largest club in the Netherlands and provides travel services and roadside assistance to its 4.4 million members.

Matchbox helped the ANWB create a mobile app to allow their members to track their journeys, see their driving style and what they are spending on fuel, and more. It can also help keep a car running smoothly by letting drivers know when something's not right, helping prevent some breakdowns. The app can:

  • Check how environmentally friendly your driving is and give you tips on saving fuel.
  • Compare regular journeys and record your business trips, making it easy to claim expenses.
  • Spot faults, like a battery going flat, and alert you know through push notifications.
  • Interpret engine fault codes and track your car.
  • Help roadside assistance teams to locate broken-down vehicles.

Our multidisciplinary team designed and built connected car iOS and Android apps that attracted thousands of downloads and glowing PR for the ANWB, allowing them to scale-up their mobile offering to ensure they are well positioned to meet new commercial goals.
