Challenge
The AA wanted to provide drivers with better insight into their vehicle’s performance, safety, and maintenance needs. They needed a connected solution that could collect and interpret telematics data while delivering useful information directly to drivers through mobile apps.
Our thinking
We recommended a connected telematics platform supported by mobile apps and a scalable cloud service layer. This would allow vehicle data to be captured, analysed, and presented in a way that helps drivers improve behaviour, manage maintenance, and personalise their driving experience.
Execution
Matchbox developed iOS and Android telematics apps supported by an Azure-based service layer. The system powers AA Car Genie, which monitors driving performance, safety indicators, and vehicle maintenance history, delivering insights directly to users through the mobile apps.
Outcome
The AA gained a smart driving platform that helps drivers understand their vehicle usage, improve driving behaviour, and stay on top of maintenance through a personalised mobile experience.
