Challenge

Travelodge wanted to enhance its mobile applications with new features and improved user experience, while ensuring any changes were technically feasible and aligned with its broader platform strategy. The challenge was to rapidly define, validate, and prioritise ideas that would deliver real value to customers.

Our thinking

We recommended a design sprint approach to quickly explore, prototype, and validate new concepts with stakeholders. By combining this with technical discovery and architecture guidance, we ensured that ideas were not only user-focused but also practical and scalable.

Execution

Matchbox facilitated a design sprint to generate and refine new feature concepts, supported by UX and UI design for Travelodge’s mobile apps. In parallel, we conducted technical discovery to assess feasibility and provided guidance on cloud architecture and platform design to support future development.

Outcome

Travelodge gained a validated set of feature concepts, improved mobile experience designs, and confidence that proposed enhancements were achievable. The work provided a clear foundation for future product development and digital evolution.
