Challenge
Hitachi Vantara needed a compelling way to demonstrate the capabilities of its Lumada IoT platform to partners and developers. They required a working solution, delivered quickly, that could clearly showcase the platform’s flexibility, interoperability, and real-world value.
Our thinking
We recommended building a practical, scenario-based demo to bring the platform to life. By simulating a real-world use case—fleet management and maintenance—we could clearly demonstrate the power of Lumada and associated technologies in a way that was engaging and easy to understand.
Execution
Matchbox designed and developed a working demo based on sensor-enabled snow ploughs. The system combined Lumada, Cisco IOx, and Pentaho to deliver real-time fleet tracking, web-based visualisation, alerts, and machine learning-driven maintenance insights.
Outcome
Hitachi Vantara gained a powerful, real-world demonstration of its IoT platform that effectively showcased its capabilities at a key developer conference, helping communicate value to partners and accelerate engagement.
