Re-engineering of Mobile Fuel Payment Platform

Challenge
The client needed to reduce rising cloud and processing costs while enabling fuel retailers to launch modern branded mobile apps with features such as pre-order, pay-at-pump, contextual marketing, and loyalty.
Our thinking
We recommended optimising Azure services and re-architecting the database layer to reduce costs and improve efficiency. At the same time, building a configurable mobile platform would allow retailers to launch branded apps quickly without duplicating development.
Execution
Matchbox optimised Azure usage and redesigned the database architecture to remove inefficiencies. In parallel, we built a configurable mobile platform supporting pre-order, pay-at-pump, contextual marketing, and loyalty features.
Outcome
Cloud usage and processing costs were reduced by 40%. The new platform also enabled faster launches of branded retailer apps and created a scalable foundation for future growth.
