Challenge

Mondelez wanted to explore voice technology as a new way to engage consumers and promote its Philadelphia brand. The challenge was to create a useful and engaging experience that fit naturally into everyday moments, particularly in the kitchen.

Our thinking

We recommended focusing on a practical, in-context use case—helping users cook. By delivering recipes through a voice interface, we could create a hands-free, intuitive experience that aligns perfectly with how people behave in the kitchen.

Execution

Matchbox led research, product planning, voice UX design, and development to create an Alexa skill for Philadelphia. The skill allows users to select cheesecake recipes by preference and guides them through ingredients and step-by-step instructions using voice interaction.

Outcome

Mondelez launched a compelling voice experience that brings the Philadelphia brand into the kitchen, increasing engagement and demonstrating how voice can enhance everyday cooking experiences.
